Mira Mar
company previously known as a producer of aquariums was found by
Jan Folk in 1989. In 1991 company started to trade
with imported pet food and pet
accessories as a wholesaler. In 1996 Mira Mar started with production of
antiparasitical collars, sprayes and shampoos and in 1998 with production of
pet snacks. Since 2000 Mira Mar is concentrated only in production of pet
snacks.
Mira Mar is a
company specialized in production of pet snacks, its main target is to produce
high quality treats, which is guaranteed by using high technology machinery, best quality raw materials which are bought
from certified suppliers and by employing skilled staff. The production in
extent of 1200 m² followes the strict EC
regulations which allowes the company to supply its goods to the EC market. The
machinery is high technology equipped with weight and dosing systems managed by
computer. Warehouse in extent of 3000 m²
is equipped with palletising system. The raw materials are checked the moment
they arrive at the plant to ensure that they meet the strict Mira Mar´s
specifications. The staff is regularly trained which warrants their high
expertness. Every step of production process is carefully monitored according
to HACCP requirements. HACCP is verified
on periodic meetings of management. Validation of HACCP plan is made by regular work-up of samples of products in co-operation with the State acredited laboratory. The company is under routine
veterinary supervision. For these reasons quality is not just a clever catch phrase
at Mira Mar.
After huge
success of national and private labels on the Czech retail market and
supermarket chains Mira Mar decided to enter EC market. Exhibiting of a new
brand BOW WOW ® at Intrerzoo 2006 in Nuremberg was a big help to start. At the present time Mira
Mar distributes its Bow Wow ® brand to 19 European countries which makes 55% of
the company’s turnover. The company also develops and produces products which
are based 100% on the requirements of the client – private labels. These
activities represent 20% of volume of production.
Each year Mira
Mar invests more than 5% of its sales in reserch and development focused on new
products, machinery and automation of production process. Proper development
department co-operates with notable veterinarians and reacts to the actual
trends and needs in pet food category.
The logical
next step is expansion, Mira Mar aims to spread production and distribution
network.
The main Mira
Mar’s target is very ambitious: to make Bow Wow ® became a strong global brand
capable to compete with the world famous brands. |
